It's a holiday for every merchant out there.
Since I'm not one, I can't be bothered.. Personally, I think that forced presents are crap. If you have to buy something to someone, of what worth is it? And it's not even that, it's a trade. You give me, I give you, done, we can move on and our Valentine is fulfilled. When I want to buy something, I buy it. Don't care if it's any holiday or not. |

If my boyfriend dares to buy me something just because it is valentine, he'll be getting it back smashed in some spot where it really hurts. If he wants to give me presents any other day of the year though, it is fine by me :P |

Originally, a holiday of a saint, but it has become very comercial (damn my spelling) and has lost a fair amount of meaning. If it weren't for mass Christian movements and political correctness, I imagine Christmas might have gone the same way.
I celebrate the meaning, not for the purpose of 'It's Valentine's Day! Must buy something!' but for the fact that it's an excuse to be romantic with my boyfriend and give around copius amounts of chocolate. Which reminds me that I should go over to Brighton, bloody Choccy-wokky-doo-dah closing here. |

well, the only reason i like valentines day is because thats the time of year when they sell those solid chocolate GIANT ASS hershey kisses, those are the most fun thing to eat ever.
